For over 30 years, Federico Garcia Castells has composed music for acoustic
ensembles, orchestras, and electroacoustic media: Trio Ollin (Mexico City),
NewEar Ensemble (Kansas City), The Symphony Orchestras of Mexico and
Queretaro. In 2010, Mr. Garcia Castells obtained a doctorate in music composition at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Since 2022, Mr. Garcia Castells has resided in Northern Colorado’s Front Range. He
composed “The Mile High Spectrum" and "Once Upon a Time in Frederick." These electroacoustic pieces consist of live electronic percussion, which are based on everyday sounds collected throughout Denver, Frederick, and Estes Park, Colorado.
